Whether you’re planning a romantic Valentine’s Day outing or simply looking for a fun weekend festival, Chicago has plenty of February events to keep you entertained.

Kendal, the not-for-profit parent company of The Admiral at the Lake, has been working to transform our culture’s view of the aging process since the 1970s. Although the Kendal System is not affiliated with any religious institution, it was founded with the principles of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in mind.

The biting winds of winter are upon us, but that doesn’t mean we want to be cooped up inside for the next four months. Join Admiral residents as we venture out to these entertaining and educational events near The Admiral at the Lake. Explore the nearby neighborhoods of Andersonville and Edgewater, and dive deeper into the north end of Chicago to see what the city has to offer.

Windows on the world. The neighborhoods in Chicago offer a glimpse into the world of the area’s waves of settlers from around the world. On the north side, wait in anticipation for Tomten as if you were in Sweden in Andersonville or celebrate with the large Greek population near Lincoln Park. Around Mount Greenwood, those with Irish roots and in Koreatown, residents observe the Christian holiday.

Everything moves indoors in November in Chicago, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do. As we turn our thermostats up and snuggle into our winter coats, we enjoy the camaraderie encouraged by fall’s chilly winds at various establishments near the neighborhoods of Andersonville, Edgewater, and in the north end of Chicago.

Granted, Twain (Samuel Clemens) visited the town during the late 19th century when it was being built and rebuilt (after the Great Chicago Fire) as the nation’s Midwest hub, but Chicago continues to change to meet the demands of today and tomorrow.
